mayor’s speaking series Open House

On the evening of Tuesday, February 25, the consultant team attended the Mayor’s Speaking Series event at The Mill Events Center to obtain a firsthand update on the goings-on of the City and utilized the opportunity to engage with the Granite City community regarding the Downtown Master Plan and 2025 Comprehensive Plan. During the event, Mayor Mike Parkinson and Economic Development Director Cathy Hamilton provided valuable insights and exciting updates on the current state of the City and what’s to come in the future. Over 100 people attended the event in-person, while more than 750 others watched as the event was livestreamed through the City’s social media.
The consultant team operated an open house-style engagement event during the hour before and the hour after the Mayor’s Speaking Series. Engagement boards with a variety of prompts were set up around the lobby area of The Mill, and attendees of the Mayor’s event were encouraged to walk through and provide feedback on the boards via voting activities and contributing specific comments on open-ended prompts.
