The City of Granite City is focused on achieving the vision of a thriving and vibrant future! With this goal in mind, Granite City has initiated the process of developing a new Downtown Master Plan and city-wide Comprehensive Plan that will guide the City over the next 10-20 years to reach the community’s vision of the future. Additionally, the City has kicked off an Entryway Project aimed at beautifying and branding the City’s entry points as clear and aesthetically pleasing thresholds into Granite City.
To streamline the process of implementing these Plans and ensure city codes and ordinances encourage the types of development and redevelopment that align with community’s vision for Granite City as determined through the planning process, the City will begin updating and modernizing its Zoning Ordinance and other related ordinances as the Comprehensive Plan nears adoption.
